Bug Fest and NC Museum of Science

Today we went into downtown Raleigh to the NC Museum of Science and to Bug Fest, which was being held in the streets outside the museum. Here are a few shots we took today:













Merrit in a bee relay race (note the wings). First he has to pick up pollen (ping pong balls) and stick them to his forearms...












...Next he has to pick up water and carry it back to "the hive" (the finish line). The goal of this relay race was to help teach kids what bees need to collect in order to make honey.


















This man is wearing a "hat" of bees....that gives me the hee-bee-gee-bees.


















Our little "honey bee" is getting to be super cute these days.
